Zepp

Behöver man D2?

Ted_Hutchinson
Most 25(OH)D tests measure both D3 & D2 and it's the TOTAL of D2+ D3 that is reported as your vitammin d level. Most people only have a little D2 and this may be below test accuracy threshold, in which case it isn't included in the total. It D3 Cholecalciferol, that is made in human skin and this is the form that works best in human bodies. D2 speeds up the rate the body disposes of Vitamin D so the more D2 you consume the faster your body catabolises ALL your vitamin D and the more you will need to increase vitamin D intake to keep up. Ergocalciferol from mushrooms or supplements consumed with a standard meal increases 25-hydroxyergocalciferol but decreases 25-hydroxycholecalciferol in the serum of healthy adults. Vitamin D4 in mushroom we don't know much about Vitamin D4 but it's half life is so short in humans it probably isn't significant. Vitamin D2 Is Much Less Effective than Vitamin D3 in Humans s. Meta-analysis of RCTs compares efficacy of D2 vs D3 supplementation
MKJ

I have the gibberish Google translate version of what you write so have to interpret this as best I can. Any jokes or humour or subtlety is totally lost in the Google translate so I presume that any summary of the evidence I provide in English would also be distorted so I prefer to limit my waffle to the minimum and present only the evidence I'm relying on, in the hope you are sufficiently intelligent to join up the dots. The vitamin D made from UVB exposure of algae is cholecalciferal. Vitamin D3. So you can buy Vegan Cholecalciferal. (at a price) It's why Caribou grazing on lichen have Vitamin D rich meat. Slugs, snails also graze on lichen. Tthese are eaten by wild birds so game birds are also vitamin D rich. That's why the INUIT were able to survive the Winter by fermenting this and other meats in pits underground in seal oil for use in midwinter. They averaged 5000iu / day from their diet.

What do you mean by "at a price"? Do you mean that it is less absorbable or that it's expensive? I buy the brand Vitashine, and they're not really expensive. 180 capsules á 5000IU for 30 euros. http://www.vitashine-d3.com/shop/europe.html

Amazon UK Healthy Origins Vitamin D3 Gels 5, 000 IU 360 capsules = £8.80 3 x Vitashine 5000IU Capsules 3for2 special offer 180 capsules £8.33 each (£25 total) £2.95 postage = £27.
AnnikaE
