Transfett/delvis härdat fett - Er det skadeligt..?

Jeg er stor fan av Gary Taubes. (og Andreas :) )

Punkt nummer 1 av Taubes 10 konklusjoner i boka The Diet Dillution er: "Dietary fat, whether saturated or not, is not a cause of obesity, heart disease, or any other chronic disease of civilization ." Omfatter dette transfett?

"Partially hydrogenated soybean oil" er en av transfett-typene jeg er interresert i vite mer om. (delvis hydrogenisert soyaolje)

 

Jeg synes fett er et stort, omfattende og vanskelig emne og finner det vanskelig å vite hva jeg skal tro.

Transfetter förekommer naturligt i animalisk föda, men av en annan sort än vegetabiliska som modifierats industriellt. En blick in i vår evolutionära backspegel antyder därför att de naturliga transfetterna, liksom andra fetter i animalisk föda, är säkra. Däremot bör man vara skeptisk mot de onaturliga, industriellt framställa transfetterna och inte gärna konsumera dem förrän vi är säkra på att de är ofarliga. Min magkänsla är att sådan säkerhet aldrig kommer. Bistert svar, men så tror jag det är.
